Visit to Center for Science Education and Communication

An enjoyable walk through innovative exploratory laboratories and exhibits. 

 *** NO ENTRY FOR VISITORS AT THE MOMENT. 
ONCE THE CENTER IS OPEN FOR ALL, IT WILL BE INTIMATED HERE ON THE WEBSITE. ***

a. Normally, its open on Saturday from 12.00 noon to 1.30 pm for individuals and less than 5 students. Reporting time will be 12.00 noon. This will be guided tour. The maximum visitors will be 30 per batch. Pre-registration and intimation is necessary. For this Email us on scpsppu@gmail.com with the details like Name of Child, Age & suitable Saturday.
   
b. For group visits: Kindly contact us by email for prior appointments. The maximum group handled will be 30 students per batch.
   
 

 Duration: The total guided tour requires 1.30 hours

The visits to department of Botany, Physics, Zoology, CDAC etc are part of the Science Camps conducted by Science Park.

Visit to Ecology and Environmental Education Center

It is a pond near main building. It has a rich flora and fauna. It is an exciting site to study Pond Ecosystem. The students experience and learn various aspects of ecosystem by traversing a pre-designed path around the pond.

Visit to Botany Museum

The department has a well-built museum. It depicts the changes in flora along the geological time scale. Its special features include fossil specimen and peels, besides wet and dry specimen of the Plant Kingdom.

Visit to Botanical Garden

The Botany Department has an impressive Botanical garden, having a collection of over 490 species of 310 genera from 81 families of plants. Its special features include a collection of 22 species of palms, threatened and endangered ferns, gymnosperms, medicinal plants and plants of special botanical interest.

Visit to Zoology Museum

The Zoology Department has a museum with more than thousand preserved specimens. The scientific collections are systematically arranged. 

Visit to Alice Garden

Alice garden is located in the premises of Savitribai Phule Pune University and it is one of the well- maintained garden giving a feel of urban forest. It has a biodiverse niche containing varied number of huge trees. It also has a small pond attracting various birds.

Visit to Department of Physics

Visit to state of the art facilities such as Scanning Electron Microscope, X-ray Diffraction, Liquid nitrogen plant, Vibrating Sample Magnetometer, X-ray electron spectroscopy, Magnetron Laboratory etc.
